About the room license agreement

The Room Licensing Agreement Template is a template for tenants or landlords who want to have someone else use a room in their premises. This is called licensing and the party taking the shared room is a licensee.

Note that if you are a tenant licensing out a room, you will have a lease (or head lease) and normally need your landlord's consent in writing before you can licence a room to someone else (your licensee). You should check your lease for any landlord requirements and obtain that landlord consent before you start the room licensing process. It is normal that a landlord will want to review licensee applications before they agree to a licensing agreement.

You should ensure this licence agreement is signed before the licensee starts to use the room.

If there is more than one room and you are starting a coworking space, then the coworking membership agreement (here) may be a better option for you.

If you are unclear whether you have a licensing arrangement, we suggest you seek legal advice before proceeding with your purchase.
