Email disclaimers inform recipients of your email policy and are used to reduce liability and caution email recipients about misusing your email, or to help manage damage where the wrong recipient receives your email. It is best practice to use an email disclaimer as part of your email signature to help limit liability and assert confidentiality and copyright.

Note that where an email is truly confidential information, the subject line or body of the email should also make reference to it with words to the effect “private and confidential”.
